Payment Plans (Available for Select Courses)

  • Certificate IV: 4 instalments over 12 months
  • IFC: Monthly instalments available (12 months)

How it works:

  • First payment deducted on enrolment day
  • Subsequent payments automatically charged to the same credit card on the same date each month
  • Small administration fee applies (built into payment plan pricing)

Fee Protection

For courses over $1,500, your fees are protected.

This means:

  • If TGDS closes unexpectedly, you’ll receive a refund or be transferred to another RTO to complete your course
  • Your fees are held securely until training is delivered
  • You’re protected under Australian Consumer Law

What this means for you: Peace of mind. Your investment in your education is safe.

Refund Policy

We want you to be confident in your decision to study with us. Here’s our fair refund policy.

7-Day Cooling-Off Period

  • Withdraw within 7 days of enrolment: 100% refund
  • No questions asked
  • Refund processed within 14 business days
  • Applies even if you’ve started the course or submitted assessments

How to request: Email support@thegraphicdesignschool.com with “Refund Request” in the subject line. We’ll send you a simple form to complete.

After 7 Days (Within First 6 Months)

Refunds after the cooling-off period are considered for compassionate and compelling circumstances only.

What qualifies:

  • Serious illness (yourself, not minor colds)
  • Natural disaster affecting your home
  • Traumatic experience that physically affects your ability to study (bereavement, accident)

What does NOT qualify:

  • Change of mind
  • Too busy with work (you knew your schedule when you enrolled)
  • Course is harder than expected
  • Existing condition at time of enrolment

Partial refund calculation: (Unused modules / Total modules) × Tuition paid - Non-refundable fees

Decision: At sole discretion of school director. Processing time: 2-4 weeks.

No Refund After 6 Months

After 6 months from enrolment date, all fees are non-refundable—regardless of circumstance (compassionate or otherwise).

No Refund Circumstances (Any Time)

  • Course completed (all modules accessed)
  • Certificate already issued
  • Breach of terms (plagiarism, misconduct, harassment)
  • Falsified enrolment information
  • After course expiry date

How to Withdraw from Your Course

You can withdraw anytime. Here’s how:

  1. Email: admin@thegraphicdesignschool.com with “Withdrawal Request” in subject line
  2. Include: Your name, student ID, course, reason for withdrawal (optional)
  3. We process: Within 5 business days
  4. Refund (if applicable): Calculated as per refund policy above
  5. Certificate of partial completion: If you completed some modules, we can issue a certificate stating what you achieved (no extra cost)
  6. Access removed: You’ll lose access to The Schoolyard and course materials

No notice period required. You can withdraw immediately.

Didn’t finish in time? You can purchase an extension.

Requirement: You must submit at least one assessment for grading during your extension period to remain enrolled.

Special circumstances: Extensions may be granted free for genuine hardship (illness, family emergency). Email support@thegraphicdesignschool.com to discuss.

How to request: Email us 2 weeks before your course expiry date. Don’t wait until the last minute!

What happens if I don’t extend?

  • Access to The Schoolyard is removed
  • You can request a certificate of modules completed
  • You can re-enrol later (see Re-Enrolment below), but there are additional costs

Re-Enrolment

If your course has expired and you didn’t purchase an extension, you can re-enrol.

Re-enrolment fees:

  • Current full course price minus any previous fees you paid (excluding extension fees)
  • Plus potential re-enrolment admin fee (up to ) if re-enrolling more than 6 months after expiry
  • Payment plans not available for re-enrolment (full payment required)

Why so expensive? Your records need updating, materials may have changed, and we need to reassess where you left off. It’s always cheaper to purchase an extension before your course expires.

VET Student Loans & Government Support

VET Student Loans

TGDS does not currently participate in the VET Student Loans scheme.

This means you cannot defer payment via a government loan. However, we offer flexible payment plans to make courses affordable (see Payment Options above).

Government Training Subsidies

Some Australian students may be eligible for Centrelink benefits while studying.

Your Consumer Rights

You have rights under Australian Consumer Law.

What the Law Guarantees

If We Fail to Deliver

  • You’re entitled to a refund or remedy
  • If TGDS closes, you’re protected by our fee protection arrangement
